At your local Toyota dealership, we’re receiving many questions about the i-FORCE MAX® powertrain. Found in the new 2023 Toyota Tundra, it’s already making waves across the industry thanks to its thrilling combination of efficiency, power, and technology. So what is it, and what makes it so unique?

2023 Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX

We will soon have the 2023 Toyota Tundra in stock at Toyota Chula Vista, and this pickup truck is shaping up to change what you think of hybrid trucks. The top-of-the-line i-FORCE MAX® boasts a hybrid powertrain good for 437 horsepower and a stunning 583 lb-ft of torque at a lower 2,400 RPM. On top of all this power, the truck is also efficient, achieving 20 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

The secret to this intuitive combination of power and efficiency is the twin-turbo V6 engine working in conjunction with a clutch located in the bell housing between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. The generator provides the truck with an additional power boost. Meanwhile, the EV’s driving, engine startup, electric assist, and energy regeneration are completed solely through the electric battery components.
