Three Things to Do After You Buy a Toyota Car

When you drive off the lot of Toyota Chula Vista in your brand-new Toyota car, there are still a few critical tasks that should be taken care of. While the professionals at our Toyota finance department can help you out with obtaining the title, giving you the bill of sale, and other finance-related aspects, there are still a few things that are left to be completed in order to ensure that you have the best possible experience with your new vehicle.
Obtain Car Insurance
Collision coverage is required for any vehicle that is financed or leased. Even if you’ve paid outright, you’re required to purchase liability insurance that covers you (and other drivers) in the event of an accident. If you’ve already chosen your vehicle, you can adjust your policy ahead of time; if you don’t, you should line up coverage – including GAP insurance – as soon as possible.
Register the Vehicle
You have thirty days from the lease or purchase date to register the vehicle and replace the dealer tags with permanent plates. You’ll also need to pay for registration at this time. To speed up the process, be sure to have the following documents:
- Loan documents
- Proof of insurance
- Title
- Proof that the car passed an emissions test
Find a Mechanic
Your Toyota vehicle will run its best if it’s adequately maintained throughout its lifetime. Luckily, you don’t even need to leave Toyota Chula Vista to find qualified Toyota technicians. The staff at our Toyota service center will be happy to schedule future preventative maintenance to ensure that your car doesn’t stray from the recommended maintenance schedule.
Here at Toyota Chula Vista, we look forward to getting you behind the wheel of a new Toyota car and taking great care of you and your vehicle in the years ahead. For a better car-buying experience, stop by our dealership today!
