Hydrogen Costs and Safety

If you hear “hydrogen” and your first thought is “Hindenburg,” let us put your mind at ease. The Mirai produces energy by leveraging the chemical reactions when hydrogen and oxygen are combined, creating electricity while making water the only “emissions.”

The electricity is then stored by the vehicle’s battery, and it’s perfectly safe even in the rare event of a collision. Additionally, the Mirai comes with $15,000 worth, or six years, of complimentary fuel purchases (whichever comes first).
