The base trim begins with the L Eco, moving up to the LE and LE AWD-e trims, the sleek flagship Nightshade and Nightshade AWD-e models, the XLE and XLE AWD-e, and finally the luxurious Limited trim.
Engine and Performance Details
The 2022 Toyota Prius’s hybrid system is equipped with a 1.8-liter gas engine, and either a single electric motor for front-wheel drive, or two motors for AWD—basically, one for each set of wheels. A CVT transmission pairs with both systems—and you can rely on your Prius service center to service any of these components. This model’s net horsepower tops out at 121.
The Prius Prime model offers a plug-in hybrid version for even better fuel economy than the standard model.
Entertainment and Safety Features
All new Toyota Prius models come standard with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system stocked with plenty of features, such as Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, and Amazon Alexa capabilities—with the exception of the Limited trim, which upgrades to an 11.6-inch version.
